Get a wedding ceremony or wedding photo permit

You need a permit to hold a wedding ceremony or to take wedding, engagement, or other professional photos on Philadelphia Parks & Recreation property.

Popular locations include:

  • Fairmount Water Works, including the gazebo.
  • FDR Park Boathouse.
  • The Rodin Museum.
  • The Azalea Garden.

Where and when

You may apply for a permit by mail or visit the Special Events Office. Faxed or emailed applications are not accepted.

Allow at least 14 days for approval.

Follow these steps to get your permit:

To help reduce the spread of COVID-19 we have changed the permit process. Certain services like DJs are not permitted. You must also:

  • Follow new health guidelines.
  • Limit the number of guests.
  • Pre-register your guests.

Download and fill out the permit application for wedding ceremonies and wedding/engagement photos.

Include permit payment.

Applications will not be processed without payment. The name and address on the check or money order must match the name and address on the application.
