Self-certify a food business for COVID-19 safety

Self-certification is a free, optional program offered by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. By participating, food business owners confirm that their restaurant adheres to COVID-19 safety guidance.

Self-certification does not result in additional inspections or impose new obligations.

Benefits of self-certification

Participating restaurants will receive permission to increase indoor dining from 25% to 50% occupancy. You will also receive:

  • A listing on the Open & Certified PA Business Directory.
  • “Open & Certified Pennsylvania” graphics for your physical location, website, and social media channels.
  • Timely updates, reminders, and alerts for new business guidance and resources.

How to participate

To self-certify, you must confirm that your business is following all required public health and safety measures. This includes mask wearing, social distancing, and other precautions.
