The Department of Public Health (PDPH) collects, analyzes, and reports on a wide variety of health data. This information guides the development of PDPH’s programs and policies. It also helps the broader health care community understand and address Philadelphia’s health challenges.
All data are provided at the discretion of the PDPH. Because we have limited staff and resources, we are not able to meet all requests.
Anyone can request health data from the PDPH, including members of the public.
If you want to use the data for formal research, the Institutional Review Board and the Health Commissioner’s Office Review Committee may need to review your request.
For access to some data, you may need to make a Right to Know request by emailing RightToKnowHealth@phila.gov.
Before making your request, browse our collection of health data and reports. The information you need may already be available online.
To request data, complete the PDPH Data Request Form. You will need to provide:
- Your contact information.
- A description of the data you are requesting, including its format.
- An explanation of how you will use the data.
- When you will need the data.
Instructions for where to email your application are included on the form. You will receive an initial response by email within two weeks.
