(909) Floodplain Inspection
Purpose
The inspector checks to ensure:
- The building’s first floor height meets the flood elevation requirements.
- The necessary certification is completed.
When to schedule
You must schedule the floodplain inspection once the first floor has been built above the required base flood elevation.
(914) Temporary Certificate of Occupancy
Purpose
The inspector verifies all fire and life safety devices in a specific area are correctly installed and working.
Passing this inspection allows the Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (C.O.) to be issued, meaning you can legally use that part of the building while work finishes up in other areas of the building.

(018) Make Safe Initial Inspection
Purpose

Do not start construction work under the make safe permit, until the inspection has passed successfully.
(911) Make Safe Progress Inspection
Purpose
A progress inspection is required to take place during construction. The inspector will check for issues early in construction so they can be fixed quickly.
When to schedule
To continue work under the make safe permit, you must:
- Schedule a make safe progress inspection during construction.
- Correct issues noted in the inspection results.
- Wait for the inspection to pass successfully.
(711) Make Safe Final Inspection
Purpose
The inspector will confirm that:
- All requirements are met.
- The property is safe.
When to schedule
Do not schedule a make-safe final inspection until all issues listed in the Case File are corrected.

Demolition Permits
(014) Initial Site Safety Inspection
Purpose

(808) Demolition Progress Inspection

(810) Prefinal Demolition Inspection
Purpose
The inspector must be involved from the start to the completion of the demolition work. This inspector will confirm the work is following the department and code requirements.
When to schedule
Schedule this inspection as the demolition work nears completion. The specific checkpoints are detailed in the approved Site Safety Plan.
(926) Notice Distribution Posting Inspection
Purpose
The inspector confirms the contractor posted the Notice of Demolition on the subject property for the required 21 days. This notice informs the neighboring properties of the proposed demolition work.
When to schedule
Once you have a photo demonstrating that the Notice of Demolition has been posted for the required 21 days, you can schedule the Notice Distribution Posting Inspection.
(928) Adjacent Wall Inspection
Purpose
The inspector will verify the new adjacent wall protection is installed correctly to ensure moisture will not enter neighboring properties avoiding potential water damage.
When to schedule
You can schedule the adjacent wall inspection and follow-up inspections when:
- You are ready to start work.
- When the weather protection (membrane or flashing) is being installed.
(756) Final Demolition Inspection
Purpose
The inspector will verify the finished demolition project aligns with the approved plans.
When to schedule
You can schedule the final demolition inspection once all work approved under the demolition permit is finished. This inspection is necessary to officially close out your permit and confirm compliance.
Fire Suppression Permits
(207) Fire Suppression Service Inspection
Purpose
The inspector is responsible for inspecting the work from the curb into the building. The inspector will verify:
- The pipe has the correct size, depth and proper joints (connections).
- Necessary shutoff valves are correctly installed.
- All building penetrations and annular spaces are properly sealed and protected
When to schedule
You can schedule this inspection after you ensure the connection at the curb is ready to be made for the fire service line.
Do not backfill the trench until the inspection has passed successfully.
(307) Fire Suppression Rough Inspection
Purpose
The inspector will verify:
- Correct pipe type and size were used.
- All pipe joints are tight and secure.
- The pipes are properly supported and braced.
- All building penetrations and annular spaces are properly sealed and protected.

You can schedule this inspection after you confirm all in-wall and above ceiling interior fire suppression piping is installed and in-place.
