Emergency appeals: To request an emergency appeal, submit an emergency hearing appeal form within five business days of the permit issuance, refusal, or violation you want to appeal.
What we do
The Board of Licenses and Inspections Review hears appeals of permits, violations, and notices issued by:
- The Department of Licenses and Inspections (L&I)
- The Water Department
- The Department of Streets
- The Historical Commission
- The Art Commission
- Other City agencies.
The board affirms or alters property violation decisions issued by L&I or other City agencies.
The board also hears appeals for licenses to carry firearms and firearm license revocations.
