Electronic funds transfer (EFT)

IMPORTANT UPDATE: You can no longer use ACH Debit to pay the following Philadelphia taxes: BIRT, NPT, SIT, Liquor, PBT, Tobacco, Wage, and Earnings. The City has terminated this pay-by-phone method. All payments for these taxes must be made in the Philadelphia Tax Center.
Current participants of our ACH Debit payment program can continue to use ACH Debit to pay all other City taxes until September 20, 2022.

Most tax payments can be made electronically via our free Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) program. This type of payment comes directly out of your bank account, which means you don’t have to submit a payment through our website or by mail.

EFT payments go through an electronic system called the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network. This service is free to use, but you must apply to join the program.
