Tax clearance certificates are required for many different reasons. You might need one to apply for a permit or license, join a board, get a job with the City, or for another purpose.

When you contact the Tax Clearance Unit, you’ll need to provide your:
- Taxpayer name
- Account number
- Entity ID (such as a Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number)
- Property address (if applicable)
- Compliance type (for example, Zoning Board or permits/licenses).
