2020 Rate Proceeding Withdrawal

On February 11, 2020, the Philadelphia Water Department (“Department”) filed an advanced notice with City Council and the Philadelphia Water, Sewer, and Storm Water Rate Board (Rate Board) of the Department’s intent to propose an increase in water, sewer, and stormwater rates effective September 1, 2020. Formal Notice followed on March 13, 2020.

The request was withdrawn on June 18, 2020.

Formal Notice

Withdrawal of 2020 Rate Proceeding

In light of the current public health emergency the Philadelphia Water Department has requested a withdrawal of its pending request for rate relief. The intent of such is a decision is to terminate all activities related to the general rate proceeding initiated on February 11, 2020 without any admission against or prejudice to any position which any Participant may adopt in the event of any subsequent litigation, if any.
