PHLConnectED: Mayor Kenney provided an update on PHLConnectED, a cross-sector collaboration to provide free, high-speed and reliable Internet to eligible K-12 student households. Thanks to this historic collaboration among the City, School District, other schools, United Way, and business and philanthropic leaders, more than 11,000 K-12 student households have crossed the digital divide since the start of the pandemic.

Enrollment and outreach is still ongoing. Families who currently lack internet service are urged to call the 2-1-1 hotline, and press option 1 to determine if they are eligible and to start the enrollment process. More information is available at phila.gov/PHLConnectED, including an example of a local mother and three students who participate in the initiative.
