Note:
Special Requirements Applicable to Historic Buildings

Federal regulations stipulate that the Philadelphia Historical Commission, in consultation with the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office, must review and approve all federally-funded rehabilitation work. Any exterior work proposed for properties that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (either individually or as part of a historic district), or are determined to be eligible for the National Register, must satisfy the criteria set forth in the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation and Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings. The Historical Commission reviews projects on a case-by-case basis and may require sensitive treatment for buildings determined to be historical.

Historical Commission review may be passed only to remedy conditions cited as "imminently dangerous" by the City's Department of Licenses and Inspections.
