Philadelphia Housing Trust Fund releases 2011 Report.
Letter from Deborah McColloch, Chair, Philadelphia Housing Trust Fund Oversight Board
I am pleased to present the Fiscal Year 2011 Philadelphia Housing Trust Fund report. The Housing Trust Fund uses revenues raised locally to address a variety of housing needs for low- and moderate-income households. In FY 2011, the Housing Trust Fund provided or improved housing for more than 1,000 households, leveraged more than $80 million in non-city funds, and supported more than 2,100 construction jobs. Since its inception in 2005, the Housing Trust Fund has
- Produced nearly 1,150 new homes, with another 225 under construction as of June 30, 2011
- Made major repairs to more than 1,400 homes
- Enabled nearly 950 people with disabilities to live more independently
- Helped nearly 1,850 households that were homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
- Leveraged nearly $225 million in non-city funds
The Housing Trust Fund is an important tool for the revitalization of Philadelphia's neighborhoods.
