Federally Supported Vaccination Site at Esperanza: The City of Philadelphia has partnered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency to open the Esperanza Community Vaccination Center (ECVC), located at Esperanza in the Hunting Park neighborhood. The site formally opens tomorrow, Saturday, April 10, 2021.

“The Esperanza site is particularly important because it is based in the very heart of Hunting Park, a community that has been under-represented in vaccinations so far,” said Mayor Kenney. “We are extremely aware of — and focused on — the disparity between the vaccination rates for white residents and residents of color. It is an issue facing all cities as we work to ensure that vaccinations are not only offered as quickly as possible, but as fairly as possible. For this City, and for our federal and state partners, equity is as important as speed. This new clinic is one example of how we are working aggressively to reduce and eliminate that inequity.”

The site has the capacity to vaccinate more than 1,000 Philadelphians per day and will prioritize eligible residents from phases 1a, 1b, and 1c who have signed up on the Philadelphia COVID-19 Vaccine Interest Form. There will also be walk-up appointments at designated times at the Esperanza Community Vaccination Center. Esperanza Community Vaccination Center will initially be administering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Full details at phila.gov/ecvc.

The entrance to the Esperanza Community Vaccination Center is located along the south side of W. Bristol Street, at 4261 N. 5th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140. The Esperanza Community Vaccination Center will operate six days a week. The times of operation will vary for easier scheduling.
