Report for jury duty

If you’ve received a jury summons you must report for jury duty. If the date that you’ve been assigned is not convenient you can request a different date by returning your questionnaire in the mail, or by choosing a postponement date online

Hardship

You can be excused from jury duty for cases of extreme hardship. This includes:

  • Medical or physical issues
  • Childcare responsibilities
  • Caregiving for a parent
  • Lost job wages

If you want to request a hardship exemption for any of these reasons you must provide some form of verification. You can only request a hardship exemption by mail, not online.

Jury duty

Your summons will tell you if you should report to the Juanita Kidd Stout Center for Criminal Justice at 1301 Filbert St., or City Hall.

Bring your summons with you when you report for service, and arrive on time. There is free Wi-Fi and a small library of books to read while you wait.
