Producing Public Events in Philadelphia

The Office of the City Representative for Ceremonial and Special Events can help by guiding you with your production needs for special events. This overview is designed to provide information concerning coordination of the hundreds of special events held in the City of Philadelphia each year. The events, coordinated through this Office, include private events of less than a week, held exclusively or partially on City-owned or City-maintained property.  This Office does not coordinate events at Penn’s Landing, Independence National Historical Park or any events held at indoor private facilities.

Any individual or group interested in holding a qualifying event (i.e. an event “sponsor”) is required to submit an application to the Office of the City Representative for a Special Events Permit at least 75 days prior to the first day of the event. Other permit applications may need to be submitted, if the event includes street or block closures, a parade, vending, requests for certain City services, or will be held in Fairmount Park.

For more information regarding event procedures, contact the Office of the City Representative for Ceremonial & Special Events, at 215-683-2060, or e-mail: kyle.lewis@phila.gov.
