Dispute a red light camera ticket

You may request a hearing within 30 days of receiving a red light camera ticket. A red light camera ticket is not a ticket you receive as part of a traffic stop. It’s a Notice of Violation sent to you in the mail.

If you don’t make a payment or request a hearing within 30 days of the date of your Notice of Violation, you will lose your right to a hearing and additional penalties will be added to your original fine.

If you want to request a hearing within 30 days of the date of your Notice of Violation, you can do so by mail or by phone. Check your notice number (starting with RL or 536) to find the correct instructions below.

By mail

Fill out the Hearing Request Form attached to your Notice of Violation. Then, mail it to the “Red Light Camera Program” at the designated address:

  • If your notice starts with RL, address to to P.O. Box 8248, Philadelphia, PA 19101.
  • If your notice starts with 536, address to P.O. Box 7807, Philadelphia, PA 19101.
