PHILADELPHIA ASBESTOS CONTROL REGULATIONS
PROGRAM GUIDE
Philadelphia has comprehensive regulations to control the hazards of asbestos. Projects involving abatement (removal, enclosure, encapsulation) of friable asbestos or non-friable material which will be rendered friable by the method of removal must meet the requirements contained within this program guide. This pamphlet gives an overview of the asbestos control requirements enforced by the Department of Public Health in the Air Management Services (AMS) program.
Other Federal regulations enforced by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) or State Regulations enforced by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Labor & Industry or the Department of Environmental Protection may also apply.
