Unified Communications

Data Equipment
  • Identify technical and capacity requirements
  • Provide technical requirements/specifications for procurement requests
  • Identify physical facility requirements needed to operate networking components (i.e. floor space, equipment clearance, electrical, cooling, cabling, weight load)
  • Install, configure, and test equipment functionality
  • Maintain and upgrade equipment per vendor requirements
  • Decommission equipment per City policy
Operations Support
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and support the networking infrastructure, IP addresses, and naming services
  • Perform system administration activities
  • Identify and establish operational, monitoring, and reporting requirements
  • Monitor and manage the availability of services
  • Maintain network topology diagrams & configuration items
  • Support for application releases
  • Implement the appropriate security to prevent unauthorized access/usage and perform security updates and tests
  • Tag equipment with asset tags and track components locations, serial numbers, IP/MAC addresses and owners
  • Coordinate & schedule server repair services
  • Manage & maintain an appropriate level of spare parts & equipment
Voice & Radio
Managing multiple modes of communication citywide ensuring the business of the City is being facilitated through voice, data, radio, sound and video communication.
  • Voice and data communication service and equipment is provided in all City-staffed locations including quasi-agency locations as well. 
  • The City’s public safety agencies and emergency event and essential personnel utilize radio communications including external partners and agencies as a means to coordinate daily activities and public safety focused events. 
  • Sound communications is provided in cooperation with the Mayor’s and Managing Director events staff for public and press attended events throughout the year and citywide. 
  • Video communication systems are managed and maintained ensuring that video data is provided to public safety agencies charged with viewing that information.
Dispatch
Performing and facilitating radio and voice city-wide communications addressing various events involving our citizenry. These events are coordinated with Streets, Police, Fire and other City agencies ensuring parallel actions are taking place in resolving the issue or responding to the event.
Channel 64
Broadcasting City Council's Slated Meetings, Phillystat meetings, the Mayor's Press Conferences and also as an informational message board for the Citizens of Philadelphia. The channel is also used as a means for the City to convey any emergency information to the citizens of Philadelphia.
Cable TV Production Services
Providing audio visual expertise needed at all events held in the Mayor's Reception room, Conversation Hall and many off site locations.

Unified Communications

Provide city-wide Communication Infrastructure and Services in the areas of Land. Mobile & Radio (LMR), Voice and Call Center Operations, Data and Network Operations, Wireless, Philly GovTV, and production operations, Audio Visual, Video Surveillance, and Public Safety equipment and services to over 22,000 City of Philadelphia employees and multiple City quasi-agencies and government partners.
