Nutrition and Physical Activity Program

Our Nutrition and Physical Activity program works to reduce and prevent chronic diseases by increasing access to healthy foods that people can afford, and by providing opportunities for healthy eating and active living.


Our 5-Year Goals
  • Eliminate junk foods from schools, including school stores, fundraisers, and classrooms
  • Reduce by 10% children's consumption of junk foods from corner stores
  • Ensure that at least 1 out of 4 Philadelphians live within ½ mile of a supermarket, farmers’ market, or healthy corner store
  • Increase by 25% the number of walkers and bikers on major transit corridors
