SERVICE ALERT
Beginning December 1, 2023, the Center will not accept organic material drop offs. This applies to any outside entity and all those registered to dispose of materials. This includes:
- Private businesses.
- Organizations.
- Residents.
- Municipal departments.
Please make other arrangements to dispose of organic materials during this time.
Parks & Rec expects that the Center will reopen on January 31, 2024. Check back for more information.
You can still get organic materials during this time.
Philadelphia Parks & Recreation’s Fairmount Park Organic Recycling Center allows businesses to dispose of organic materials.
For a tipping fee, commercial businesses can dispose of:
- Leaves.
- Grass clippings.
- Brush.
- Herbivore manure.
- Wood chips.
NOTE: Bamboo is not accepted at the Organic Recycling Center. See additional notes on unacceptable materials, below.
Who
Businesses that have registered to use this service.
April through October:
Monday-Friday: 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Closed Sundays.
November through March:
Monday-Friday: 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Closed Saturdays and Sundays.
How
The following will not be accepted:
- Bamboo.
- Plastic bags.
- Metal.
- Trash of any kind.
Recycling Center staff has the right to refuse disposal of any materials.
