MIS OVERVIEW

Management Information Services
Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, Management Information Services (MIS) exercises primary responsibility for all automation and technology-based information processes within the Fire Department. The Chief Information Officer serves on two major committees:

  • National Fire Information Council (NFIC), acting as a program manager for the Council
  • State of Pennsylvania Task Force Member, in order to encourage the State's and City of Philadelphia's participation in the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS)

In order to efficiently meet the needs of senior management, the MIS Unit is comprised of three, distinct functional sub-units each with its own set of tasks and responsibilities.The functional sub-units are as follows:
