DHS to Hold Town Hall Meetings
Philadelphia--The Philadelphia Department of Human Services will hold a series of town hall meetings in locations throughout the city during the months of October and November.  The meetings will be led by DHS Commissioner Anne Marie Ambrose, who will provide information about the status of the Department’s reform efforts. Mayor Michael Nutter will attend the first town hall meeting to support Commissioner Ambrose and respond to community concerns.  In addition, community members will have the opportunity to ask questions and express any concerns or suggestions they might have.    Representatives of the Department’s Community Action Response Office (CARO) will also be on hand to help address case-specific issues with clients.
“The town hall meetings are an integral part of DHS’ ongoing effort to increase Departmental transparency and improve communication with stakeholders and the public,” explained Ambrose.  “The Department’s ability to protect the welfare of vulnerable children is dependent on strong partnerships with providers, advocates, clients and the general public.  As we move forward in our reform effort, we welcome the opportunity to keep them apprised and to hear their comments and feedback.”  Dates, times and locations for the town hall meetings are as follows:

  • Wednesday, October 1, 7:00-9:00pm, Cozen PAL, 732 N. 17th Street (19130)
