State of Pennsylvania grants DHS Full License
Philadelphia—The Department of Human Services (DHS) is pleased to announce that it has earned a full license for the first time since July of 2007.  The Department of Public Welfare (DPW) notified DHS of its status on Thursday, January 22nd, 2009.
This is extremely positive news for the agency; proving that the reform effort is indeed in full swing and clearly capable of bringing about positive change. “We definitely have our work cut out for us and many improvements to make,” said Commissioner Anne Marie Ambrose. “But I’ve urged my staff and stakeholders to think of this as the first of many milestones that DHS is capable of achieving when we remain focused and determined,” she continued, “this accomplishment serves as an affirmation of the transformation that is underway at DHS.”
