Tax Types

W-2 Income Earners

If you are paid by a W-2, you need to confirm with your employer that the City Wage Tax is being withheld. If not, you have filing obligations with the City.

1099 Income

Receive a 1099 for work performed? Learn about your tax obligations to the City including the Net Profits Tax and in certain instances, the Business Income and Receipts Tax.

Dividend Earners

If you earn dividend or interest income and are issued a 1099 DIV or INT by the Federal Government, you are responsible for the School Income Tax.

Hotel Tax

Guests booking short-term stays in Philadelphia will pay a Hotel Tax of 8.5% of the amount received by the host, including cleaning fees, to the City of Philadelphia.
