Find a cooling center

In the event of extreme heat and humidity, the City opens cooling centers, which are air-conditioned spaces available for public use.

Additionally, some branches of the Free Library have extended hours during periods of excessive heat, and all are air conditioned spaces where you can go to cool off and catch up on some reading.

For more tips on how to stay cool during excessive heat, check out the Stay Cool Guide.
