Philadelphia Commission for Women Releases Statement on PA Senate Bill SB3

PHILADELPHIA – Today, Philadelphia Commission for Women chair, Felicia D. Harris, released the following statement in response to the PA Senate Bill SB3:

“The PA Senate’s recent actions in quickly and quietly introducing and passing the Senate Bill SB3 is of major concern to the Philadelphia Commission for Women.  SB3 would be disastrous for women and a deep setback for the reproductive rights we fought for with Roe v. Wade. The state legislature has sent a message that the elected officials in Harrisburg do not respect a woman’s Constitutional right to privacy that protects deeply personal health decisions.  We appreciate Governor Wolf’s pledge to veto this bill, and urge you all to contact your state representatives in the PA General Assembly.”
