Today is the 100th day that I have had the privilege to serve as your mayor. And, I can say without a doubt that the last three months have been nothing short of the most humbling experience of my life.

On my first day as mayor, I promised in my inaugural address to lead a city government that worked for everyone. In the report we just released, we have outlined some of our progress toward that goal.

It would be impossible to record all the many ways in which our city workers serve their fellow residents every day, so we focused on progress in the areas of education, public safety, and economic security and development. We also noted our efforts to create a city government that is both more accountable, inclusive and accessible as well as more efficient and effective.

Historically, there has been a lot of emphasis placed on the first 100 days of a new administration. Personally, I find that to be a little silly. The true test of what our city will accomplish is still ahead and, as I’ve said often, the administration will not be able to accomplish anything great alone.

So, in the weeks, months and years to come, I look forward to working with City Council, all our many city partners and, most importantly, you to create a fairer future for all Philadelphians.
