Central GIS Data Warehouse
Internally and externally provides access to and maintains the spatial data warehouse for enterprise-wide access to the City’s GIS data layers.
Geospatial Web Services
Web services can be used to add geospatial functions to new or existing applications by leveraging sophisticated geospatial processing that goes on behind the scenes as data is delivered to the consumer.
Geospatial Application Development
Developing new browser-based and mobile applications to provide easy access to spatial data for city employees and the public.
Map Production
Providing cartographic services to supplement the capacity of individual departments, to meet the immediate needs of departments without internal GIS capacity.
Strategic Planning and Coordination
Coordinating and participating with city departments in planning for workflow re- engineering and/or long-term strategic planning to improve service delivery and reduce costs.
Technical Support & Assistance
Providing city departments, whether established within or just entering the CityGeo Community, with technical support and/or assistance. This might include software, hardware, and/or networking issues.
Data Distribution
Promoting data sharing by implementing a data distribution policy that will provide access to City Spatial Data and other City data to city employees, the public and commercial entities.
Enterprise GIS Contract Management
Managing several enterprise GIS and geospatial contracts for standardized GIS Software, Ortho and Oblique Imagery, and GIS Basemap capture. The CityGeo group is available to assist departments with developing RFPs and vendor selections.

Geographic Information Systems Services

Develop and deliver state-of-the-art GIS and geospatial technology and services to the enterprise (citywide). The CityGeo group has been strongest in technology, successfully developing, deploying and maintaining the enterprise spatial data warehouse, over 30 geospatial web services (the City’s first web services with nearly 200,000 hits daily), the City’s land records unification / master addressing system (critical to dozens of City applications and OpenDataPhilly), and various websites, applications, and application components that inform and enable business processes across the City. CityGeo supports the core spatial technology functions of the overall City Enterprise GIS program and directs and coordinates the City’s enterprise GIS and geospatial efforts.
