If you’re a senior citizen who:
- Owns a home in Philadelphia, and
- Lives in that property
You can pay your 2021 Real Estate Taxes in monthly installments! But don’t wait to apply. The March 31 deadline is approaching fast.
To qualify, you must be at least 65 years old, or have a spouse who lives in the same home who is at least 65.
Apply by completing and mailing in a current-year installment plan application. The application must include proof of age. Acceptable documents include:
- Driver’s license
- Birth certificate
- PHL City ID
- Medicare card
Make monthly payments, never reapply
When you make all required monthly payments, you are automatically enrolled in the installment plan for the following year. You never have to reapply, unless there is a change to your property deed.
Be careful! If you do miss a monthly payment, you’ll disqualify yourself from the program. To get back in it you’ll have to restart the application process.
Low-income homeowners can also apply. Depending on your family size and household income, you could also qualify to pay your bill month to month.
