PHILADELPHIA – An update to the work schedule for the Lincoln Drive Restoration Project includes the continuation of a series of closures to allow for roadway improvements, announced Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams.

Complete overnight closures of the stretch of Lincoln Drive between Ridge and Wissahickon Avenues are in effect beginning Monday, July 15th from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The overnight closures will last through 6:00 a.m. Thursday, July 18th. The roadway will open earlier each morning, if the work is ahead of schedule.

Detour routes will be posted for the duration of the closure. Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes such as Walnut Lane and Schoolhouse Lane during this time frame. Should the work be completed sooner, the roadway restrictions will be lifted accordingly.

These temporary closures will allow Streets Department employees and its contractors to safely access and assess multiple areas of the roadway. This work has been scheduled during the overnight hours to provide the best protection for employees, expedite repairs and minimize the disruption to motorists.

The scheduled timeline is heavily dependent upon the weather. For the duration of the work, Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to affected drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians. The Streets Department thanks residents in advance for their patience and cooperation.

Scheduled construction for The Lincoln Drive Restoration Project continues through December 2019. The contractor is A.P. Construction. Stay updated on the progress of the Lincoln Drive Restoration Project at http://www.philadelphiastreets.com/transportation/lincoln-drive-project.
