The Philadelphia Office of Sustainability (OOS) is hiring two summer interns to support the Office’s work towards creating a sustainable city for all Philadelphians. 1) Climate Planning Intern

Support the development of a climate action plan in line with the Paris Climate Agreement by:

  • Researching climate policies and municipal climate action plans
  • Analyzing existing strategies that address the causes and impacts of climate change to help create a pathway forward for Philadelphia
  • Applying an equity lens to assess the degree to which these actions contribute to the advancement of equity

Support the launch of a neighborhood-based heat relief network in Hunting Park, one of Philadelphia’s hottest and most heat vulnerable neighborhoods by:

  • Working with community partners to create guidelines for selecting cooling sites, cooling resources, and relevant community programming
  • Developing a culturally responsive communications strategy to spread awareness and promote use of the heat relief network
  • Monitoring and sharing project progress and impact of the project by collecting data, documenting feedback and progress and, presenting a summary of activities and key findings
