Did you know that March is Women’s History Month?

If you take a look around the City, you’ll find the work of important women everywhere. Especially at our parks and playgrounds. We made a list of some special women who now have parks and playgrounds named after them.

Most of these women spent years fighting for better conditions in their communities. They made youth groups, and volunteered many hours to make their neighborhoods better.

There may be some names you recognize and others that are new to you. Planning a visit to your neighborhood park or playground? Be sure to check out the woman it may be named after!
