This week, the Emergency Operations Center was officially reactivated, bringing those involved in the Resilience Project together again to discuss and focus on the project’s long-term goals. Team members worked on finalizing their long-term goals along with setting Key Performance Indicators that will guide the work of each mission area moving forward.

We also finished preparations for the next full-scale community clean-up on Saturday, January 19th, which will focus on the area surrounding the Willard and Conwell Schools. The focus of this cleanup is to create a safer and cleaner environment for children in the neighborhood.

In the coming weeks, it will be a priority to address abandoned vehicles in the neighborhood. The Police Department will be working to remove abandoned vehicles within the target area.

Plans were also finalized to officially close the Emerald St. encampment on the previously announced date of January 31st.  We also continued the process of establishing a citywide encampment policy.

Next week, AmeriCorps VISTAs will begin working on the Philadelphia Resilience Project to provide additional support to each of the project’s mission areas.
