This October, through a partnership between the Sister Cities program and the Community Schools initiative, 19 Philadelphia students will travel to Florence, Italy for 10 days to learn about regional cuisine. The students represent all four high schools in the City’s Community Schools initiative: Murrell Dobbins CTE High School, George Washington High School, Kensington Health Sciences Academy, and South Philadelphia High School.

This program will give the high school students international travel experience and heightened global awareness by participating in the Citizen Diplomacy International study abroad program.

Here are three ways how you can help offset costs and make this incredible learning experience possible for Philadelphia students!

1. Give to The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia!

Want to support all students heading on the trip? All funds given here will be distributed evenly to offset costs for all students traveling.

2. Give to the school of your choice!

Support your alma mater, neighborhood school, or child’s school! Give to Dobbins, George Washington, South Philadelphia, or Kensington Health Sciences students! Funds will go to the traveling students attending the school of your choice.

3. Share this blog!

Spread the word! Philadelphia students are going places, literally! We’re excited to see what these students, and all Philadelphia students, will be learning this fall. Everything that Philadelphia students accomplish helps our city grow and shine, and we’re proud to support them.

Philadelphia has 12 Community Schools all across the City. Learn more about this initiative that serves all Philadelphians.
