PHILADELPHIA – The City today announced the resignation of Rich Lazer as Deputy Mayor for Labor.  Mayor Kenney released the following statement:

“Rich Lazer has worked for me for the last 10 years, and for the last two as a member of my Cabinet. Over that time, Rich was instrumental in achieving substantial progress on a number of labor matters. He made this role a vital part of my Administration by ensuring positive working relationships with labor unions across the City. Most notably, he helped achieve a landmark contract agreement between the City and District Council 33 that was a fair deal for workers while achieving much-needed pension reform.  He also worked behind the scenes to achieve a contract settlement for the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers, to end the SEPTA/TWU strike in 2016, and to ensure fair wages  for workers at Philadelphia International Airport. Working families across Philadelphia are better off because of his service, and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
