How Do I Install Solar Technologies?
Finding Solar Installers
Find Solar has an online directory of solar professionals that makes it easy to find and compare PV and SWH installers.

Energywise PA also keeps a current list of solar system contractors for both residential and commercial installations. Another website to find qualified service providers surrounding energy use in your home is PA Home Energy.

For the PA State Sunshine program, Solar installers will have to be NABCEP certified OR must have completed an Interstate Renewable Energy council (IREC) accredited PV training program as well as a PV manufacturer's training program, and successfully installed at least 3 PV systems. The home energy auditors will need to be RESNET or BPI certified.

Permit Process for Solar
The City, along with the DOE, our own Licenses & Inspections department, and PECO are finalizing a Solar Guidebook for the solar industry as well as home and building owners to help provide clarity on the process for installing solar PV. This will make the process smoother, faster, and more effective for all those involved.
