FarmPhilly is developing a network of community-led composting projects across Philadelphia.
The Community Compost Network supports composting efforts at 13 sites across the city. The sites include community gardens, farms, and schools. At these sites, residents can compost their food and yard waste. FarmPhilly provides:
Parks & Rec also operates the Fairmount Park Organic Recycling Center. There, residents can get free compost, mulch, and woodchips.
View the existing compost network sites in the map below. Please be sure to check each site’s access information. Some sites are only open to members. Others are open for drop-off once a week. For more details, use the contact information provided at the top of each entry.
