What we do
The Managing Director’s Office (MDO) is a cabinet-level office with oversight of the City’s operating departments. The MDO works with these departments to:
- Create and successfully enact new policies.
- Deliver efficient, effective, and responsive public services.
- Implement the mayor’s vision.
The MDO oversees the following divisions:
- Capital Program Office
- Community Safety
- Community Services
- General Services
- Health and Human Services
- Office of Transportation and Infrastructure Systems
The MDO also provides strategic oversight and support for the Office of Integrated Data for Evidence and Action.

Beware of scams
The PA Department of Human Services is aware of scams targeting SNAP recipients, claiming that SNAP benefits will be delayed unless you provide your PIN. PA DHS will never contact you by phone or ask for your PIN or personal information.
Learn about the City’s new SNAP Grant program
The City of Philadelphia has established the One Philly SNAP Support Program to support Philadelphia residents with access to food, emergency rental assistance, emergency revenue replacement, and a temporary payment deferral program.
