A new survey from the Philadelphia City Planning Commission asks the public for their opinions on and experiences with planning topics. Results from this survey will directly influence the City’s comprehensive plan, Philadelphia2050: Planning Together. This survey will be open until December 15, 2026.

Last fall, Philadelphia’s city planners conducted a citywide opinion survey to ask: “What do you want for Philadelphia’s future?” Philadelphians responded with thousands of hopes, dreams, ideas – and some strong feedback! – about how the city could change and adapt over the next 25 years. Many responses said, in their own words, that Philly should be a place where people feel connected, and a place where there is wellbeing between neighbors.

City planners analyzed these responses and considered various planning-related interventions that might help make that vision a reality. This new survey is the City’s effort to follow up and follow through on creating a path to meet that vision.

This new survey is more comprehensive. It digs deeper into the city planning tools that can help achieve that vision. That’s why this survey asks questions like, “What are your top priorities for your neighborhood main street?” and “how would you like to see your culture and history uplifted?” Throughout the survey, there are questions that ask for examples of places, organizations, and businesses which help build a strong, connected and wholesome city.
