The City of Philadelphia is modernizing procurement and making it easier for businesses to work with City government. The creation of the Philadelphia Vendor Cooperative (PVCOOP) is the first step in a comprehensive approach to procurement reform. The new centralized vendor support unit will help businesses navigate City processes, get answers to questions, and access the support they need. 

Whether registering as a new vendor, updating their information, or trying to resolve an issue, PVCOOP serves as a single point of contact to help guide vendors through the processes. 

Why was PVCOOP created? 

The City works with thousands of vendors that deliver essential programs and services to Philadelphia residents. While these partnerships are critical, navigating government systems and processes can sometimes be challenging. PVCOOP was created to improve the vendor experience by providing a more coordinated, responsive, and customer-focused approach to vendor support.  

By centralizing vendor assistance within one dedicated team, the City can: 

  • Provide a consistent experience for vendors 
  • Improve communication and responsiveness 
  • Help businesses navigate City processes more efficiently 
  • Coordinate issue resolution across departments 
  • Strengthen relationships with vendors and business partners

Who is behind PVCOOP? 

PVCOOP is staffed by a dedicated team of Vendor Management Representatives focused on providing high-quality support and service to Philadelphia’s business community. 

The unit also represents the City’s commitment to workforce development and public service. The team is made up of graduates from the City College for Municipal Employment (CCME), a workforce development initiative preparing Philadelphians for careers with the City of Philadelphia.
