The Citizens Police Oversight Commission (CPOC) is the City of Philadelphia’s new, independent civilian oversight agency. The monumental legislation created by City Council and signed by Mayor Kenney allows CPOC to continue practices which have proven impactful from its predecessor, the Police Advisory Commission (PAC), but also grants additional powers to the new commission. CPOC will continue to expand on PAC’s capacity and authority, and PAC operations have continued unfettered as the formal transition to CPOC has occurred. This begins the next phase of expanding our staff to further fulfill the vision of oversight laid our in the legislation.

For more information on the future operations of CPOC, see the signed legislation (bill number 210074).
