PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Department of Public Health today reported an additional 8,706 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Philadelphia since last reported on Monday, May 9. This brings the total number of fully vaccinated Philadelphians to at least 1,063,966, and the number of Philadelphians with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine to at least 1,282,547. Currently, 77.3 percent of Philadelphia adults are fully vaccinated, and 95 percent of Philadelphia adults have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

All residents ages five and older are eligible to be vaccinated in Philadelphia. 36.3 percent of 5-to-11-year-olds in Philadelphia have received at least one vaccine dose. Among eligible Philadelphians ages 12 and older, 76.5 percent are fully vaccinated, and 94 percent have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

In the last two weeks, 11.9 percent of COVID-19 tests in Philadelphia have come back positive. Thus far during the pandemic, 287,209 Philadelphians have been diagnosed with COVID-19, and 5,039 have succumbed to the virus. Philadelphia is averaging 364 new cases of COVID-19 per day over the last two weeks.

Health Department Moves to Weekly Reporting of COVID-19 Testing & Case Data: Beginning Monday, May 16, 2022, the Health Department is updating the COVID-19 Testing Dashboard and OpenDataPhilly on Mondays only. This aligns with a recent change by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. As more Philadelphians utilize rapid at-home testing kits to determine if they are positive for COVID-19, day-to-day testing numbers have become a less reliable indicator, thereby lessening the need for more frequent updates. If there is a shift in the status of the pandemic and the need for daily case count reports returns, the Health Department will move to more frequent reporting.
