More Than Three Million Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine Have Been Administered in Philadelphia: Over the weekend, the Health Department reported that the 3,000,000th dose of COVID-19 vaccine was administered in Philadelphia. The City and vaccine partners, accomplished this feat in just over 13 months. Because of the hard work of all of these partners, and residents in every part of the city, Philadelphia is one of the best-vaccinated big cities in the country and has consistently had one of the lowest case rates in the region. Please note that not all of the three million doses have been given to Philadelphia residents.

“I am incredibly proud that over three million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been distributed in Philadelphia since January 2021,” said Mayor Jim Kenney. “Every dose increases our protection against this virus, and takes us a step closer to the end of this pandemic. Every week tens of thousands of doses are administered, and I want to say thank you to the health workers and partners who have sustained this effort for more than a year now. And thank you to all of our residents who are vaccinated. The best way to protect yourself from COVID-19 is to ensure that you are up to date on your vaccine schedule. That includes getting your booster shot if you’re eligible.”

*Note: All vaccine administration percentages will be capped at 95 percent to account for U.S. Census estimates.
