Cars, parking & transportation

Get your car back when it has been towed

If you believe your vehicle has been towed and impounded, you’ll first need to confirm it has been towed. If your car was towed by the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA), they can help you locate your vehicle. You’ll need to pay all outstanding tickets and fees before it will be returned to you.

You can locate your car or pay boot and tow fees on the PPA’s website.

Vehicle relocation

In some cases, the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) will relocate cars without ticketing or impounding them. Your car may be relocated if it’s parked in a Temporary No Stopping area. If you believe your car has been relocated, call the police district of the area where your car was parked.

You can identify a police district by address using the PPD’s website.
