Office of Professional Compliance

 

SUMMARY
The Office of Professional Compliance is comprised of the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU), Background Investigation Unit (BIU), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Unit and the Sick Leave Investigation Unit (SLIU).

 

It is the policy of the PPS Office of Professional Compliance to ensure professional and ethical conduct through internal investigative units, which are independent of any facility or other division.

 

GOALS

The goal of the Office of Professional Compliance is to protect the PPS by taking the appropriate action, so the misconduct of a few will not detract from the overall reputation of the PPS, and also protect employees against false or malicious allegations of misconduct.

 

These investigations may include allegations of staff, inmate or others misconduct; violations of constitutional rights; allegations of sexual harassment; pre-employment and post employment investigations; injured on duty and sick abuse, and other investigations affecting the safety and security of the PPS.
