Lou Giorla

Warden, Riverside Correctional Facility

Appointed as a Correctional Officer in July of 1982 and graduated first in his class.  Assigned to the House of Corrections he also worked at Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center, Alternative and Special Detention, Internal Affairs Division where he went on to become Director.

During his tenure at IAD Warden Giorla was trained as a criminal investigator by both the FBI and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Since May of 2006, Warden Giorla has been assigned to the Riverside Correctional Facility.  Throughout his supervisory career, Warden Giorla has been an active participant in policy development. While at ASD he served on the Committee, which formulated the PPS JOBS Project.

A lifelong resident of Philadelphia, he is currently enrolled in the Justice Program at the Community College of Philadelphia.
