Michele Farrell began her career with the Philadelphia Prison System on October 22, 1984 as a correctional officer assigned to WDF (the original women’s detention facility). Throughout her twenty-five year career she has been assigned to CMR, Detention Center, PICC, Training Academy, MIS, RCF (working on the Transition Team and the initial opening of the facility), ASD and House of Correction. Working her way up through the ranks, she became a Sergeant in 1992, a Lieutenant in 1995, a Captain in 1999 and a Deputy Warden in 2005. She was promoted to Warden on February 17, 2010.

Michele received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Pierce College in June 2005 graduating Summa Cum Laude. In May 2010, she will receive her Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Holy Family University. In addition to her education, she keeps on top of current industry information through memberships in the American Correctional Association, American Jail Association, and the Pennsylvania Prison Warden’s Association.
