Joyce Brown Adams
Joyce Adams attended and received a Bachelors Degree in Social Welfare from Temple University, and completed graduate studies in Counseling Psychology from the University of Illinois-Chamapign-Urbana Campus. Joyce Adams was inducted to Phi Beta Kappa honor society in Education. Beginning her career with the Philadelphia Prison System in 1981, Joyce Adams has been assigned as a Social Worker at the House of Correction, Employment Counselor at Work Release and PICC, Coordinator for the Community College-OPTIONS program, Social Work Supervisor at Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility as well as Alternative and Special Detention, Director of Classification, Movement and Registration, Policy and Audit Division and Acting Director for Inmate Service. Joyce received a commendation as part of the Policy & Audit Unit in 1997 and Employee of the Year in 1998.
Joyce Adams has been a member of the American Correctional Association, National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice and the American Jail Association.
