Superintendent of City Trusts[Record group 169]

- Agency History
- Office created by Ordinance of August 22, 1854 to be filled annually by appointment by City Council and placed under the supervision of Councils' standing Committee on Trusts. It was charged with the administration of all funds entrusted to the City with the exception of those of the Girard Estate and Girard College. The office was abolished upon the passage of the Act of June 30, 1869, P.L. 1276, which transferred control over all City trusts to the then-established Board of Directors of the City Trusts (Record Group 146).
