The functions of this agency are currently performed by the Mayor's Office of Information Services.

Agency History
The Data Processing Unit was formed in the Office of the Director of Finance to begin computer operations of financial matters. The unit was enlarged and moved from the Director of Finance to the Mayor's Office in 1986, when it became the Philadelphia Computing Center. In 1994, the name was changed again to the Mayor's Office of Information Services.
