Included are letters from various organizations and individuals containing suggestions and comments on various drafts of the charter; reports and statements by the Advisory Committee of Accountants, the Bureau of Municipal Research, the Citizens' Charter Committee, the Committee of 70, the Greater Philadelphia Movement, the Pennsylvania Economy League, and others; information about other city charter movements, including those of New Orleans, Cincinnati, and St. Louis; the Philadelphia Charter Reporter, published by the School District of Philadelphia, correspondence and notes on the public hearings, publicity, and research files. 1 cu. ft. contains copies of mimeographed materials submitted to the Charter Commission members for their information and deliberations. Also included are 11 folders of newspaper clippings.
